Fatehpur Sikri

Built during the second half of the 16th century by the Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri (the City of Victory) was the capital of the Mughal Empire for only some 10 years. The complex of monuments and temples, all in a uniform architectural style, includes one of the largest mosques in India, the Jama Masjid.

The next day was an early start, wake up call 2:30, in prep for a 7 plus-hour flight from Delhi to Mauritius, where our cruise ship will be waiting on 163 of us to arrive and continue the remainder of our 4-month cruise.

We docked overnight at Colombo Sri Lanka ,  historically known as  Ceylon  and officially the  Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka , is an  island country  in  South Asia . It lies in the  Indian Ocean , southwest of the  Bay of Bengal , separated from the  Indian peninsula  by the  Gulf of Mannar  and the  Palk Strait . It shares a  maritime border  with the  Maldives  in the southwest and  India  in the northwest.
