Thursday-Friday, January 4-5, Los Angeles, CA

Image
We left Cabo San Lucas early New Years evening.  We sailed two sea days on our way to Los Angeles, California, arriving about 6 AM January 4.   We did not go on our scheduled shore excursion yesterday because we needed to take care of some personal chores. We packed too many warm and dress-up clothes so we needed to send some home from here.  We found a UPS store and sent an entire suitcase full back to our apartment.  We had developed a list of items over the first three weeks that we wanted to shop for before leaving the US and prior to returning on May 5.  Therefore we took no tours or pictures to share. Below is a series of Panama Canal pictures taken by the Viking Sun photographer using a drone!    He must also be quite the pilot.  I took these photos of the pictures as they were shown on a screen a few days ago.  Please excuse some black borders but they seemed worthy of including them in ...

We arrived 6 AM in the bay of Cabo San Lucas.  Our alarm was set for 7 AM.  When we pulled back the drapes of our stateroom we were greeted by a sun river. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, Mystic Mountain Rainforest, Ocho Rios, Jamaica (ADDENDUM)

This addendum is to supplement the earlier post of the Jamaica destination.  At the time we used a GoPro camera to record our trips down the bob sled and zip lines.  We did not know how to download the extremly large video files nor how to pass them along to you. It happens we learned a few days ago (December 28) that our next door stateroom neighbor knows quite a bit about GoPros.  He showed me how to load the files onto YouTube.  So here are the better files that we recorded. Hopefully they are clear enough so you can enjoy them: https://youtu.be/_YUqe-bebw4               L&D bob sled 300 sec https://youtu.be/c1f_2tNc938                 L&D zip line 43 sec https://youtu.be/rdnBSxTMF-M              L&D zip line 61 sec

Friday-Sunday, December 29-31, 2017, Happy New Year

We are on our last day of a three-sea-days' leg (no port calls) heading to Cabo San Lucas.  We will arrive 7 AM tomorrow, New Years Day.  Since there will be three cruise ships with no cruise ship dock, we will have to tender in, about 25 minutes each way. We are scheduled to go on a noon shore excursion to San Jose del Cabo, about a half hour bus ride east of Cabo.  This was one of our favorite quaint villages to visit when we were doing our Baja RV tours.  We will pass by the RV park we used to stay at while we travel to SJdC tomorrow. Tomorrow's visit to Cabo area will close out the Latin America portion of our world cruise.  Although we saw interesting places, had fun on zip lines and bob sled, enjoyed the Panama Canal again, we are glad to be on our way.  Most of Central America remains very poor with living conditions being on the edge of primitive.  We should all take a moment to thank God for our abundant living conditions in the G...
