Shanghai Panoramic & Walking Tour
Our shore excursion today took us to Shanghai’s central
gathering place and colonial past at People’s Square and the renowned riverside
Bund. We drove with our guide to People’s Square, the city’s vast public
space surrounded by skyscrapers. At its center, a rose- and sand-hued fountain
sends jets of water into the air.
We admired the exterior of the adjacent Shanghai Museum, one of the most celebrated collections in the world, designed to resemble an ancient bronze cooking vessel. We spent a little over an hour inside; wow, what a collection of antiquity. This blog will display jade and furniture.
Our initial stop on today's shore excursion was the Shanghai Museum.
These two pieces were found in ancient graves.
Escalator for the four floors in background.
Would not want to move these portable closets.
View of the foyer from 4th floor.
Tomorrow's blog will have pictures of the Chinese Painting Gallery. We only got to three of the dozen exhibits; we are including a small portion of the 300+ pictures taken.
