Sunday, February 11, 2018, Sydney, New South Wales, day 2, Majestic Blue Mountains
Today we took a shore excursion to the Majestic Blue Mountains via bus. These mountains are a UNESCO sight to conserve the forests, animals, and terrain.
Pictures cannot do justice for the huge size of the mountains and forests.
Although touted to be the world's steepest "railway," it's more of a cable car to us.
An original car no longer used.
These mountains are full of coal, still mined today but with more modern equipment.
Tree ferns.
Vines that lift moisture from the ground and elevate it to the forest canopy.
Our tour guide thought this to be a oppossem nest.
Opening in forest created from major rock slide. Provides sunlight so plants on the floor can survive.

Three sisters. Aborigine legend has it that three sisters were pledged to marry three brothers but the sisters did not want to marry the three. So they were turned into these pinnacle formations.
After viewing the vast canyon expanse we continued to Scenic World where we took in the views on the vehicles above and from a board walk on the canyon floor.
Pinnacle viewed from the Skyway car.
