Monday, December 18, 2017, Havana, Highlights of Cuba’s Colorful Capital
We began the morning riding in a cruise ship tender to get to shore and our bus. On the way to our dock, we passed a four-masted sailing ship with Cuban registry.
After our three-hour bus-ride from
Cienfuegos our first stop was at author Ernest Hemingway’s farmhouse, Finca
Vigia (Lookout Farm). Located ten miles
outside Havana, he resided at the stately home for twenty years, during which
time he wrote many of his masterpieces, including “The Old Man of The Sea.”
In Havana we enjoyed a delicious
lunch at the local El Aljibe Restaurante.
We were then surprised with rides to Old Havana for a walking tour where
we visited and learned about three of four squares.
